Installation Prerequisites
To successfully install the Agnitio Planner 4, you will also need the following:
- You will need Local Administrator rights on the PC you are installing on. (Note that this is not needed afterwards, for the normal day-to-day use of the Planner 4)
- You will need to have Adobe AIR installed (Version 2.7 or later). The latest version of the AIR framework may be downloaded and installed from this link: Adobe Air
- Note that this link is intended for individual downloads and installations. Enterprise administrators, however, often distribute software to their users from a central location. To use this distribution method, you must first apply for and receive permission from Adobe. In the application process, which takes about five minutes, you provide contact information and an explanation about your intent to distribute. To apply for enterprise distribution of Adobe AIR, please use this link: Distributing AIR in enterprises
- You will need Adobe Reader version 8.1 or later, to view PDF-references in the presentations. You can download the latest version of Adobe Reader fromthis link: Adobe Reader.
- You should ensure that there is plenty of harddrive space available on the device you are installing on. The presentations that will be downloaded into the application-folder frequently exceed 100Mb in size.
- (Optional) You may need an sfi_consultant License File, depending on the choices made for your particular project.
Installation steps
- Install the Adobe AIR framework (See prerequisites above)
- If the license-file option is used, place the appropriate sfi_consultant.php file in the documents folder:
- Windows XP : C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\My Documents
- Windows Vista, Windows 7 : C:\Users\[user name]\My Documents
- Mac OS : /Users/[user name]/Documents
- Run the Agnitio Planner 4 installer
- Log in, to test user-access (Note that if you are not using the License-file option, you will need to be connected to the internet the first time you access the Planner)
Agnitio also provides the installer in MSI-package format, in which case the procedure above should be replaced by the customer organisation's normal workflow for centralised distribution of software
Installation validation
To validate that the Planner has been installed correctly, a few tests should be performed.
- A sample target-list is published by Agnitio. A local test should be performed to ensure that the target-list is correctly synchronised into the Agnitio Planner.
- A sample presentation is published by Agnitio. A local test should be performed to validate that the presentation has been synchronised correctly, and can be opened and accessed as intended.
- A few test-calls should be performed on the Planner, and then submitted/Reported, so Agnitio can validate that presentation monitoring-data is being captured and submitted correctly.
